Overview
An academic assignment based on Real Fruit Bubble Tea, a beverage chain that originated in Toronto. Their current website does not reflect their cultural background and unique beverage options
Challenge
Redesign their landing page to be more aesthetically pleasing, reflect more cultural history, and allow for ease of understanding
Approach
I began by reviewing the website's current pages and noting the issues users and customers might encounter. Additionally, I created a flow chart of their original website to help organize how the user processes information
Throughout this process, I took note
of various types of issues:
Clarity
Information was overall clear, but was mostly images, and was very long to scroll on mobile
Navigation
Some sections led to broken pages, and the navigation bar varied from page to page
Engagement
Showed nice images of drinks, however, it was a fairly static/structured site
Visual Consistency
Some pages contain hand-drawn illustrations, while others don’t & navigation bar varies
Task Flow
The site could be confusing to new users, especially those trying to find a local location, as there are two map pages
Outcome
For my solution, I redesigned Real Fruit Bubble Tea’s landing page in a more fun and inviting way that is easy to navigate, highlights the unique beverage options, and allows users to access their nearest location, all while incorporating more aspects of their cultural identity throughout.
